Under the Fairy Tree

by Jane Doe

IF YOU’D LIKE TO KEEP YOUR LUCK, and stay away from bad omens, steer clear of the fairy trees.
That’s what I was told from the day I was born to even this very morning. The Irish love the superstitious, my family and friends included. But that’s not going to hold me back today, because I’m going to explore that stand-alone tree! Papa was so afraid to tear it down that he just worked around it when tilling the soil and plotting the seeds. He said the wee folk would curse him if he came near, so it’s been there for a very, very long time.
It’s about three in the morning, so no one is up and I’ll be able to check it out. Coming down the steps and making the trek, careful not to step on any greens, I slowed down and slowly crept forward. Big rocks made a kind of barrier, one that they say keeps any curious wanderers from getting too nosy. The closer I got, the more I slowed. I wanted to see one, even just a glimpse! And making any suspicious sounds would definitely freak them out. Approaching the rocks, I peeked over and waited. All was quiet, not even a bird or a bug making a single sound. If I hadn’t been paying attention, I wouldn’t have caught the slightest motion of a tiny… thing… crawl out of the tree’s roots. Not wasting a moment, I lunged for the creature!
Wiggling. Writhing. Panicked movements. I did it. ‘I did it!’ Smiling and looking around, I only wish I could express how excited I was to someone. Then, I looked down, opened my hands ever so slightly, and brought it closer to my face.
“No! No, please! Don’t eat me!”
Startled out of my wits, I almost let go, but I kept my composure and spoke in reply.
“You can talk? Are you a fairy?”
The violent shaking from inside my cupped hands stilled.
  “... Yes, I am. And you’re a human, right?”
“Well, yeah. What kind of a question is that? Anyways, if I open my hands, will you run?”
  “No.”
“Uh huh. Listen, I’m going to head back to the house so I can shine some light on you. I can’t see anything out here.”
“Please, don’t! I won’t run! Just put me back!”
“It’ll be fine I promise. I don’t want to hurt you or anything, I just want to know more about you!” I said as I rose and turned back towards my home. I felt really bad, but I was too curious to stop now. The fairy was shaking and crying and banging on my hands. It didn’t hurt physically, but it sure stung my heart to hear those pleas. I kicked the door open and shut it behind with my elbow before taking off my shoes and going upstairs to the bedroom.
“Okay, we’re in my room and I’m going to set you down on the bed so I can turn a light on. Please don’t run anywhere. I can’t let anyone in the house find you and I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Well shit. The moment I set them down, the little thing bolted somewhere. Quickly turning on a light, I spun on my heels and looked all around before moving an inch. Not on the bed, not on the dresser, not on the desk or on the chair. Sighing, I sunk to the wooden floor and put my head on the ground.
“Hey. Please come out? Can I see you?”
  “No.”
  “Please?”
  “No!”
“Pretty please with a cherry on top?”
“... If I come out, will you keep your hands off? And let me go back home?”
“I can promise that I’ll ask before doing anything. And that you can leave after we’ve had the chance to talk some more.”
Tiny movements. Tiny steps. I backed up and sat on my knees waiting for those steps to come closer.
  *gasp*
  “... What?”
A tiny, gorgeous little fairy walked out from under the bed. He was so absolutely small and cute! I couldn’t help but suck in air and cover my mouth at the sight.
“You’re so cute! I could just eat you right up!”
He stared back in alarm, looking ready to dart.
“No, no, I didn’t mean it like that, it’s an expression of affection!”
I received a look of confusion and disgust.
“Why in the human realm would you show that you like something by eating- you know what, figures! All you humans ever do is eat us, isn’t it!” He said in exasperation.
“I don’t know about anyone else, but I wouldn’t eat you at all. And I really don’t know why you’d think that because most people are scared of you and your trees! Haven’t you noticed they avoid you at all costs? Honestly, I’m surprised you’re real, it’s more of a superstition than anything.”
“My parents told me that my sister was eaten by a human! They wouldn’t lie to me. And everyone else has stories just like it!”
I huffed. “Well maybe they weren’t eaten at all. Did anyone see them get eaten?”
He looked confused and his little face scrunched in thought.
“Maybe, and this is just a guess here, your sister was like you in the same situation you’re in now! Maybe she’s somewhere in this world, right now, but someone is with her. Maybe she fell in love with a human and didn’t go back!”
“... I mean. I never thought of it like that... So, you’re saying that humans are good? They don’t eat things smaller than them?”
“Well, sure, we do eat things, but just plants and animals. Nothing like you.”
He still seemed distrusting, but still more open and less panicked than before.
  “Alright. Well, my name’s Aiden.”
“Can I pick you up, Aiden? I know you’re scared but my heart is literally hurting right now and I just want to hold you. Oh, and my name’s Aileen.”
His tiny, slightly pointed ears moved back and his body moved defensively, but then he took a breath and closed his eyes.
  “Okay.”
I moved slowly, gently bringing my fingers behind him. His head moved slightly to the left, then the right as his eyes jumped from one hand to the other. As I lifted his nearly weightless body, he looked up at me with nervous eyes. Neither of us moved a muscle. His eyes were inklings of sea green and cyan, and he wore what looked like leaves and faintly-pink flower petals. I knew it was a bold move, but I just had to kiss him.
Leaving no time to think it through, I quickly brought him to my lips. I could feel his body go rigid as he froze, but a few seconds later, he softened and put his hands on my mouth. I let go and looked at him once more before I blushed like mad.
“Agh, I’m sorry I just couldn’t help it. You really are so stunning.”
He looked away and rubbed the back of his neck. “That’s okay.”
She cleared her throat. “Anyways. I was wondering if you’d like to stay for a little while longer? I’d love to get to know you more, but I’m really tired.”
“What would I do in the meantime?... if I were to say yes, that is.”
“You could sleep with me! Or… um… something like that.”
We both blushed. But I’m pretty sure I blushed more. To my surprise, he nodded in agreement. I briefly set him down to take off my clothes, leaving the underwear on and covering my breasts. Not knowing where he’d like to sleep, I turned the light off and crawled into bed with him against my chest. He was the first to speak up.
“Why did you undress?” It came out more of a whisper.
“I’d be uncomfortable if I slept like that. Does it bother you?”
“I wouldn’t say that. Fairies usually court and take our time with those we intend to… be with. We don’t usually expose ourselves like that.”
“Oh… would you like me to put something on?”
“Not if it would make you uncomfortable.”
  “Would you like to?”
  “What?”
“Would you like to take yours off? I don’t want you to sleep uncomfortably either.”
He was quiet. Did I say the wrong thing? Gosh this is embarrassing.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to!”
He still didn’t say anything, but I felt him move and get up to stand. He was too close to my chin and neck for me to look down and see what he was doing, so I stayed still and waited.
“Would you keep these somewhere safe for me?” He said quietly.
Oh! I felt him set something down and I carefully grabbed a little stack of clothes. I put them on top of the side table and felt him lay back down.
“I never thought in a million years that I’d be in a situation like this.”
“I didn’t either!” I said with a chuckle. “Well, goodnight then.” “Goodnight.”

I groggily woke up and groaned.
“Too bright.” And turned to lay on the other side. My eyes shot open.
  “Aiden?”
Immediately I felt movement in between my boobs. I grabbed the one on top and moved it to see the little guy sweaty and exhausted.
“Oh my god, are you okay?”
“I’m okay… just exhausted. I woke up a few minutes ago when you turned off your back and I fell between… your…”
I laughed and ran my hand through my hair as I sat up, letting him fall into my hand and laying him on the pillow.
“Gosh I’m glad that’s all it was. You should’ve at least bought me dinner first!”
There’s that cute, confused expression again. I laid on my stomach and propped my head on my hands, looking down at him.
“It’s another expression humans use. Don’t worry about it… Question, do fairies ever have sex with people they just met?”
His face turned into a little tomato and he wouldn’t look me in the eye.
“Some of them, but not most.”
  “Are you some? Or most?”
His ears went down as far as they could and it looked like he might burst into a million pieces. After a moment of cooling off, he looked back up. His ears stayed low but he took a deep breath.
  “Maybe I’m some…”
“You are so impossibly cute, you know that? Impossibly.”
I nuzzled my face into him, pushing his small frame into the pillow while I slipped my hand underneath my panties. He gasped and pressed his hands against my face for grip.
“Mmm. You know, I just might have to take a little taste.”
I brought the tip of my tongue onto his chest, tracing along as it travelled down past his stomach and around his dick. Gently sucking, I moaned into him and he moaned right back. His legs brushed against my chin to push against the pillow and thrust upward.
  “Mmmmm. My little Aiden.”
I needed more. More of him. I wanted to feel his warmth and his movement, so I took the chance. Putting my tongue underneath his butt, I slipped his legs into my mouth until only his chest and his head were outside.
“W-Wait wait! I thought you said you wouldn’t eat me!”
I stopped rubbing my clit and pulled him out, flipping onto my back.
  “Trust me.”
He looked down into my eyes and nodded, wiping away fearful tears that left as fast as they had come.
I set him on my face, sucking him inside once more. My eyes closed, I concentrated on my tongue. Under the balls, around his dick, sucking and then lapping at it. Eventually I cracked an eye open and saw a blurred image of little Aiden in pure bliss.
That fairy tree was the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me.
